Save Fuel This Summer

How can you make sure you're getting the most out of every drop of petrol in your car? The biggest influence you can have on how much fuel you use is how you drive - which means ditching the lead foot, having a smooth, steady driving style and, especially, staying within the speed limit.

Think about the road ahead and keep an eye out for corners and traffic lights. Maintain a good following distance between your car and the car in front so that you can brake smoothly and gradually when you need to slow down - braking hard into corners and tailgating the car in front is a surefire way to burn that precious petrol much more quickly.

Lastly, before heading off on that summer road trip, make sure you stop in to the petrol station and check your car's tyre pressures. Having your tyres inflated to the correct pressure means both safer and more economical driving.
